Title: "Femtosecond Optics - More than just really fast"

Abstract:
Advances in femtosecond optics are creating dramatic new capabilities
for a variety of applications, many of which are not ultrafast but which
benefit from ultrabroad bandwidths, low coherence or high peak powers.
This talk will highlight recent research on optical clockworks, frequency
combs and arbitrary optical waveforms. Applications to ultrafast
measurement, medical imaging, micromachining and communications will
also be described.
